Although relatively new on the English wine scene, we have already won four "Best Wine" trophies and, in fact, 100% of our wines have won awards of some sort. In 2005 we won the "Champion of Local Produce" category in the Coventry and Warwickshire Food and Drink Awards.

| David Stanley - Vigneron, died 28 March 2006 David Stanley - Vigneron, died 28 March 2006 David Stanley's passion for English wine was the motivation for planting Heart of England Vineyard in 1995. He often said "good wine is made in the vineyard." His individual care of the vines has resulted in 100% award winning wines! David died in 2006, but the legacy he began will continue as the vineyard will be managed with the consultation of Three Choirs, who make the wines for Heart of England.

| Best English Red Wine! According to Food From Britain, Heart of England Oberon is the best red wine made in England. It was selected for two high profile receptions, hosted by Margaret Beckett, Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, to mark the UK Presidency of the EU and G8 in 2005. The picture shows Mrs Beckett talking to David Stanley from Heart of England Vineyard. Lucy Randolph, a FFB Executive, says, "When people have tasted and enjoyed it, then been told that it was English, it really has turned round the perceptions of English wines, and red wines in particular. Heart of England Oberon is proving that England can make some top quality red wine, and that it goes brilliantly with food." | |
